What is Glucosamine & Chondroitin?
Both are substances which are found naturally in the body. Glucosamine is a form of amino sugar which plays a role in cartilage formation and repair. Chondroitin sulphate is part of a large protein molecule, called proteoglycan which gives cartilage its elasticity. Glucosamine is also needed for the synthesis of synovial fluid which is a vital cushioning substance which protects the joints from the damaging effects of friction.
